Lumberjacks to Wear Special 4th of July Jerseys
July 3, 2003 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Bangor Lumberjacks News Release
Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks, a proud member of the Northeast League, announced today that the team will be wearing special patriotic Fourth of July hats and jerseys for the club's July 5th doubleheader against the Allentown (PA) Ambassadors. The hats and jerseys will be auctioned off during the doubleheader.
The doubleheader, a result form the rainouts suffered by the club during the very beginning of the season, will begin at 5 PM. The team will wear the special uniforms for one of the games. A fireworks show will follow the twinbill, presented by the Bangor Lumberjacks.
"It's a great way to show patriotism for our country as well as to allow our fans to take home a part of the team. Combine this with the fireworks after the games, and it will make for a great night," stated Lumberjacks General Manager Curt Jacey.
The Lumberjacks did a similar auction for special Halloween hats on Friday, June 13, and have plans for more special jersey nights.
The Jacks return to Mahaney Diamond on Friday, July 4 for a 5 PM doubleheader with the Allentown Ambassadors. It's UniFirst hat giveaway night. All season, 10 pack and 5 pack ticket holders will receive a Lumberjacks hat courtesy of UniFirst. Hats will also be given out to the first few hundred fans through the gate. Gates open at 4 PM. Tickets are available by calling the Lumberjacks Ticket Office at 207-947-1900 or by stopping in the Lumberjacks Pro Shop located in the Bangor Mall.
