Bangor Lumberjacks News Release

Bangor, ME- The Bangor Lumberjacks announced today that they have signed LHP Isaac Pavlik to a 2004 Northeast League contract. To make room for Pavlik on the roster, the Jacks placed RHP Jon Rohlfing on the Inactive List.

The 5-foot-8 Pavlik was drafted by the Rockies in 2002 in the 10th round. He spent 2002 with the Tri-City (WA) Dust Devils and went 5-1 with a 1.33 ERA in 27 appearances, fanning 32 in 32.0 innings earning Northwest League All-Star honors.

2003 saw the Seton Hall product promoted to high-A Visalia, where he posted a 3-3 record and a 4.94 ERA, striking out 50 batters in 54.0 innings. This season, Pavlik struggled through a tough month of May, but settled down to not allow a run in June before his release.

Rohlfing was 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA and two saves this season for the Lumberjacks. He has been placed on the Inactive List due to injury.

Following Thursday night's conclusion of the Lumberjacks three game series with the Aces, the Jacks hit the road before returning to the Wink for a six game home stand beginning with three against the Aces and concluding with a fourth of July series against les Capitales de Quebec.
