(GUELPH) The Guelph Storm announced today that Luke Pither is the Grand & Toy Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, September 28th.Â
Luke picked up three goals and three assists helping his team collect six points in three games this past weekend. The Storm's highest point getter this week, Luke scored once-his first goal of the 2008-09 season- on Friday night against Erie. On Saturday the Burketon native scored the Storm's third goal of the game and helped set up two goals including the important insurance marker late in the third. With three points on the night, the Storm forward earned second star honours in the 5-3 victory. Back at the Sleeman Centre on Sunday, Pither scored his third goal of the season in the Storm's 3-2 win over the London Knights.
Pither is currently tied with last week's Player of the Week, Anthony Nigro, for the team's lead in points. In three four games played so far this season, the 19 year old has 7 points (3 goals and 4 assists), is a +1 and leads the team in powerplay goals with two.
