
Luka Garza Named NBA G League Player of the Week

The NBA G League today announced Iowa Wolves center Luka Garza has been named the G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Nov. 21 through Sunday Nov. 27. This is the first time this season and first time in his career that Garza has won the weekly award.
Garza dominated in Iowa's road victories over Fort Wayne and Grand Rapids, averaging 29.0 points on 59.5% (25-of-42) shooting, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.5 steals per game. In the win over the Mad Ants on Nov. 25, Garza posted his second 30+ point/10+ rebound game of the season with 31 points on 14-of-23 shooting and 11 rebounds. It marked his third-straight 30+ point performance.
In seven games with the Wolves this season (all starts), Garza is averaging 27.3 points on 67.6% from the field, including 55.2% from three, 9.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. He ranks second in the G League in scoring (27.3 ppg), fourth in three-point percentage (55.2%) and fifth in field goal percentage (67.6%).
Garza is the first Iowa player to win the weekly G League award since D.J. Stephens during the 2015-16 season.
