Lugnuts Add Pitchers Bouchey and Rodriguez

LANSING, Mich. - In conjunction with the Toronto Blue Jays, the Lansing Lugnuts (2-2) received right-handed pitchers Brayden Bouchey and Dalton Rodriguez from Extended Spring Training and transferred pitchers Andy Ravel and Kyle Weatherly to Extended Spring Training in a corresponding move.

Bouchey, 22, was drafted by Toronto out of the University of Louisiana at Monroe in the 33rd round in 2016. A Vancouver native, he posted a 1-1 mark with a 4.20 ERA in 24 relief appearance for the Short-Season Vancouver Canadians in 2017. This is his Midwest League debut. Rodriguez, 21, returns to Lansing after making three starts for the Lugnuts at the tail end of 2017, going 1-1 with an 8.62 ERA in 15 2/3 innings. The Mexicali, Mexico, native was originally signed as an international free agent as a 16-year-old.

The Lugnuts open a four-game series at Fort Wayne tonight at 7:05 p.m., returning to Cooley Law School Stadium on Friday the 13th to open a seven-day, six-game homestand against the West Michigan Whitecaps and Lake County Captains.
