
Lowrance Powers Sens to 4-3 Win

The Senators opened up their four-game series at Connecticut on Tuesday night with a come from behind 4-3 win. Marvin Lowrance had the big blow, a two-out opposite field three-run home run in the top of the six inning giving the Sens a 3-2 lead.
Starting pitcher Carlos Martinez allowed two first inning runs, but settled down and lasted into the sixth inning for his fourth win of the year. Four relievers combined to go the final three and a third innings scattering three hits. Andrew Kown pitched a perfect ninth to earn his first save of the season.
Leonard Davis had three hits including an RBI single to give the Sens an insurance run in the seventh inning. Ofilio Castro had two hits as did Lowrance.
Lowrance also had the defensive play of the game, throwing out a runner at the plate on a fly ball to left field to end the third inning and keep the score at 2-0 Connecticut.
The Senators have won a season high six straight games and are now 33-42 on the season. They also won their 20th game of the month on the final day of June.
The series continues on Wednesday night at 6:35pm with RH Erik Arnesen on the mound for the Sens against LH Madison Bumgarner for Connecticut.
