Lowgators Bench Earns Comeback Against Mobile

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (December 11) – The North Charleston Lowgators defeated the Mobile Revelers 88-83 on Wednesday night. Peter Cornell and Damone Brown popped off the bench and scored 18 and 17 points respectively to help North Charleston come back from a 14-point deficit.

The Lowgators outscored the Revelers 28-17 in the final period. Their run began in the middle of the fourth quarter, as they cut the Revelers lead to 80-79 with 1:40 remaining. Damone Brown then hit a jumper from the corner to give North Charleston the lead, and then grabbed a defensive rebound and hit a three-pointer to make it an 84-80 contest.

"We needed all ten guys tonight to win this game. Our reserves really sparked us and got us going in the second half. Then we were able to get five news guys on the floor to comeback for the win. This really gives us a lot of confidence," Lowgators Coach Doug Marty said.

The game was a tale of two halves. The Lowgators struggled from the floor in the first twenty minutes and had a hard time boxing out. After intermission, it was Mobile who struggled to score.

Revelers Coach Sam Vincent said, "We played a good 35 minutes and then five bad minutes. We need to execute down the stretch to win games."

Peter Cornell, in his North Charleston debut, had 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Mobile received 18 points from Sean Colson and Eugene Edgerson added 14.

The Lowgators (6-6) will face Greenville on Friday night at the BI-LO Center, while Mobile (4-4) is at Columbus.
