December 11, 2002 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

With the game and first place in the balance, Huntsville's Brandon Williams sank two free throws with 0.7 seconds left to lift the Flight to a 71-69 victory Tuesday night over Greenville. The Davidson product formerly known as "Ozone" scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the second half as Huntsville claimed a one-game lead over Greenville and Mobile at the top of the National Basketball League Standings. Williams connected on 10-of-15 field goal attempts.

A Real Top Flight Performance

The Huntsville Flight players and coaching staff will be assisting the Toys For Tots program today from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Marine Reserve Center in Huntsville, Ala. The Flight will be assisting in bagging and labeling toys for delivery, as well as helping in toy collection.

"All Over the World"

"Reading takes you to places all over the world," North Charleston Head Coach Doug Marty told third graders at North Charleston Elementary School Tuesday afternoon. Marty and all 10 players on the Lowgators roster visited the school to participate in the NBDL's Read to Achieve program. The players asked the students about their favorite books and shared some of their elementary school stories. The Lowgators also handed out books for the students to keep.

Lending a Hand

Greenville's Donald Hand had?well, the hot hand? in the Groove's narrow defeat at Huntsville Tuesday. Hand scored 18 points on a 6-for-7 shooting night from the floor. He also connected on 4-of-5 free throws.

Sweet 16

Jameel Watkins and Terrell McIntyre both had 16 points as Fayetteville traveled to Asheville and beat the Altitude, 81-68. The two combined to make 11-of-24 field goal attempts and 10-of-11 free throw tries. Watkins and Jeff Aubry each collected nine rebounds for the Patriots.

Unfamiliar Ground

Mobile plays just its second road game of the season tonight at North Charleston. The Revelers, currently a game out of first place, catch a Lowgators team coming home reeling from a four-game road swing. North Charleston has lost four of its last five games, while Mobile has won four of its last five.

On TV Today

Last Saturday's North Charleston at Roanoke game will be replayed today at 4 p.m. on ESPN2.
