Louisville City FC News Release

LOUISVILLE - After agreeing on compensation with Orlando City SC for coaches James O'Connor and Daniel Byrd, Louisville City FCannounces an agreement with goalkeeping coach Thabane Sutu to mutually part ways, clearing the long-time Louisville coach to join O'Connor and Byrd in Major League Soccer.

Sutu's departure is effective immediately, leaving interim coaches George Davis IV, Paolo DelPiccolo, and Luke Spencer in charge while the club continues its comprehensive search for the team's next head coach.

"We have enormous respect for Thabane and what he has done for generations of players in Louisville," said LouCity chairman John Neace. "He is leaving on great terms with the organization and we wish him the absolute best as he continues his legacy in Orlando."

Sutu had been with LouCity since its inaugural season in 2015 but had established himself as a local coaching legend, serving as technical director at United 1996 Futbol Club starting in 2001. A native of Lesotho, Sutu served as captain of the national team from 1994 to 1997.
