July 6, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Real Monarchs News Release

HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs SLC (12-4-1, 37 points, 1 West) will look to rebound from Tuesday's loss at Reno 1868 FC when it visits Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, July 7th in its first visit to Papa Murphy's Park in 2018. Kick off from Sacramento is set for 9:00 p.m. MT while the match can be seen LIVE on ESPN+.

After suffering its worst loss of 2018, Interim Head Coach Jamison Olave will be looking to lead the club in a rebound effort where the club currently carries a 2-0-1 record in matches after a loss in 2018. Having only lost four matches in the opening half of the season and Saturday's opponents - Sacramento Republic FC - looking to close the points gap in the standings with the Monarchs, this weekend's match at Papa Murphy's Park becomes all that more intriguing.

Real Monarchs SLC hosted Fresno FC at Zions Bank Stadium on June 26 as DF Andrew Brody notched the lone goal in the club's second 1-0 victory over the Foxes this season. With the goal, Brody became the 12th player to score for the Monarchs this season as he earned a spot on the United Soccer League's Team of the Week for Week 16.

Currently, the USL league-leaders are coming off a forgettable 0-3 loss to Reno 1868 FC on Tuesday, a match that saw GK Jake Leeker save his USL-leading third penalty kick of the year. Leeker also made five other key saves in the match to help limit the damage in the midweek match for the Monarchs.
