Macon Mayhem News Release
The Louisiana IceGators used two power play goals and an empty net goal to defeat the Macon Mayhem 3-1 Sunday afternoon in Louisiana.
It was the second consecutive weekend the Mayhem lost on a Sunday after winning games on Friday and Saturday. Ironically, both Sunday games featured an empty net goal against the Mayhem.
On Sunday, the Mayhem struck first when Lucas LaBelle scored at 4:35 of the first period. Blake Heitala tied the game at 13:11 of the second period.
Louisiana's second power play goal of the game came off the stick of Dan Cornell at 3:02 of the third period. Zach Frischmon's empty net goal with Curtis Martinu on the Mayhem bench in favor of an extra attacker came with only 20 seconds left.
After back-to-back three game weekends, the Mayhem play only one game next weekend at Columbus on Saturday.
