Lots o' fun planned for home opener

WINNIPEG, MB – There will lots o' fun for Winnipeg Blue Bombers fans at this Thursday's home opener against the Ottawa Renegades.

The game – which starts at a special time of 8:00 p.m. CDT – features a guaranteed 50/50 draw of $50,000. Game sponsors The Casinos of Winnipeg present the pre-game party with Doc Walker, who will perform a 45-minute set that starts at 6:45 p.m. Doc Walker will also sing the National Anthem prior to kickoff and sign autographs at half-time.

Gates open at 6:00 p.m. and the first 4,000 people through those gates will receive thundersticks. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to get their thundersticks and to see the launch of the new Blue Bombers song "Time 4 Action", as written and performed by Grammy Award nominee Fresh I.E. The Winnipeg rapper will unveil the new theme song with the help of the Labatt Blue Lightning Dance Team 15 minutes before kickoff.

The Pacific Extreme Team from Australia will perform at half-time. Following the game there will be a fireworks display courtesy of Manitoba Hydro Power Smart.

There are many places for fans to get their tickets to this exciting home opener. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers Ticketmaster Box Office is open from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Fans can visit all Winnipeg Safeway locations to purchase game-day tickets.
