DAYTONA BEACH, FL - The Tortugas losing streak reached six Saturday night with a 2-1 loss against Clearwater at Spectrum Field. Daytona is now 0-3 to start the second half.

The Tortugas scored their lone run on a throwing error from second baseman Grenny Cumana in the fourth inning. Otherwise, Daytona went 0-for-9 with men in scoring position, leaving eight on base. The Tortugas have been outscored 19-6 in the series.

Clearwater, meanwhile, used large and small ball for their two runs. Wilson Garcia lead off the third inning by drilling a home run to right field, his third in the last four games. An inning later, Simon Muzziotti made a trip around the bases for the decivise run. He lead off with a single, stole second, tagged up to third on a fly ball and scored on a RHP Mark Armstrong wild pitch.

Armstrong (0-1), in his fourth start back since Tommy John surgery, worked into the fifth inning for the first time since June 2015. He allowed two runs and four hits in five innings.

Clearwater's pitching staff walked 10, but surrendered just the one unearned run. RHP Alberto Tirado (5-4) earned the win, allowing an unearned run in five frames. LHP Jeff Singer notched his league-best 15th save, stranding two on base in the ninth,

Daytona's six game losing streak is the longest since June of 2015, as the Tortugas have lost eight of their last nine road games. The Tortugas have matched their low water mark (33-35), falling two games below .500 for the first time since April 19th (6-8).

The series will conclude on Sunday afternoon before an off-day on Monday. Daytona will turn to RHP Vladimir Gutierrez to stop the bleeding. First pitch is scheduled for 1 PM, with coverage beginning at 12:45 PM with The Metcare Pregame Show on AM 1230 and AM 1490 WSBB.
