BAKERSFIELD, April 13, 2011 - The Bakersfield Jam's NBA affiliate, Los Angeles Lakers, have recalled rookie forward Derrick Caracter, the team announced today.
Caracter, who was assigned to Bakersfield twice this season, appeared in 2 playoff games for the Jam averaging 7.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in 21.5 minutes. He also played in three regular season games with the Jam, averaging 8.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in 20.0 minutes.
Caracter (6-9, 275) has played in 40 games this season for the Lakers, averaging 2.0 points and 1.1 rebounds in 5.3 minutes. The Lakers selected Caracter, an early entry candidate, in the second round (58th overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft.
