Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA - Coming off the best season of his CFL career, Ottawa REDBLACKS defensive lineman Lorenzo Mauldin IV has been named the league's Most Outstanding Defensive Player for 2022.
Mauldin, 30, terrorized opposing backfields, this season, ending the campaign with a league-high 17 sacks in 18 games, eclipsing the REDBLACKS' previous record of 12. The Sacramento, California native, who earned CFL All-Star honours earlier this week, also recorded 43 defensive tackles, and two forced fumbles.
Mauldin is the first player in REDBLACKS history to be named Most Outstanding Defensive Player, and second in Ottawa franchise history, after defensive lineman Greg Marshall of the Ottawa Rough Riders won, in 1983.
