Loons Blow Out Sky Carp In Opener

BELOIT - A beautiful evening at ABC Supply Stadium didn't turn out quite so beautiful for the Beloit Sky Carp.
The Sky Carp dropped their seventh straight game Tuesday night, losing 20-0 to the visiting Great Lakes Loons.
Great Lakes scored two runs in both the second and third innings, added three in the fourth, eight in the fifth and two more in the sixth. They added a run in the sevenrh and two more in the ninth for good measure.
The Beloit lineup didn't have much luck against the Great Lakes staff, managing just four hits. Joe Mack led the way with two hits.
The Sky Carp will try their fortunes in their Paletas de Beloit uniforms Wednesday when two teams meet for the second Copa de la Diversion Day in Beloit. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35, with gates to the ballpark opening at 5:30.
The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
