Lookouts Score Nine Unanswered Runs for Win

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Three Chattanooga pitchers combined to put down 18 of the last 19 Suns batters in order, while the Chattanooga Lookouts (62-67, 25-34) scored nine unanswered runs for a 9-3 victory over the Jacksonville Suns (58-71, 25-34) in front of 2,304 Thursday night at AT&T Field.

The current series is tied two games each with the deciding game scheduled for Friday.

After allowing two hits and a Russell Mitchell three-run homerun in the first inning, Chattanooga starter Pedro Viola (3-7) allowed only two other singles over a six inning performance, the last of which came in the fourth.

The Lookouts stormed back against Suns starter Jesus Rodriguez (4-5) with second inning, solo homeruns from Justin Turner and Chris Valaika before a third inning, solo homerun from Michael DeJesus tied the game 3-3. Turner's third inning RBI single gave Chattanooga the lead for good at 4-3.

Chattanooga added three runs in the fifth, one earned, against Rodriguez. Two runs scored on a dropped fly ball while another Justin Turner RBI single opened a 7-3 Lookouts lead. Rodriguez left after allowing seven runs, five earned, on ten hits in five innings of work.

The Lookouts ended the scoring with two runs in the seventh inning, a Danny Dorn solo homerun and Chris Valaika RBI single to finish the game 9-3.
