Lookouts Keep Rollin' With 6-1 Win

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Jesus Castillo pitched a gem of a game, while the Lookouts offense came through in the latter portion of the game in a 6-1 win over the Montgomery Biscuits before a sellout crowd at AT&T Field in Friday night action.

Lookouts starting pitcher Jesus Castillo and his counterpart, Jeremy Hall, stifled their opponent's bats for four innings. The Lookouts, however, broke the ice in the fifth by scoring three runs.

Mike Rivera led off with a walk and advanced to third on a subsequent Anthony Hatch double. A fielding error by third baseman Greg Sexton allowed Dee Gordon to reach first, while scoring Rivera from third. With runners on first and second, Jaime Pedroza laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners into scoring position.

Trayvon Robinson followed with a walk to load the bases. After an Andrew Lambo pop up, Corey Smith single to center to score Hatch and Gordon, giving the Lookouts a 3-0 lead. The Lookouts added another run in the seventh on a Pedroza single, which was prefaced by a Gordon triple.

Two more insurance runs were added by Chattanooga in the eighth frame, courtesy of an Anthony Hatch two-run shot.

Montgomery would makes some offensive overtures in the ninth, scoring a run on a Matt Fields RBI double, but Lookouts reliever Eric Krebs would settle down to retire the final three batters.

Castillo (1-1) pitched seven shutout innings to pick up the win for the Lookouts. He yielded just three hits and one walk, while striking out two in the stellar start. Hall (0-1) took the loss for Montgomery. In five innings of work, he surrendered three runs (zero earned), four hits and four walks. He struck out one in the losing effort.

The Chattanooga Lookouts will hit the road to play a five-game series against the Huntsville Stars on Saturday. The Lookouts will return to AT&T Field on Thursday, April 29th to play the Tennessee Smokies.
