
Jaxx smash three more homers in 6-2 win over BayBears

MOBILE, AL.- The Diamond Jaxx (7-9) win their third straight game on Saturday night in Mobile, AL over the BayBears (7-9), 6-2. The Diamond Jaxx got back-to-back-to-back homers from Carlos Triunfel, Kuo Hui Lo and Carlos Peguero in the fifth inning and roll to the 6-2 victory. The three long balls by the Jaxx gives them a league leading 23 on the season.
The Diamond Jaxx had multi-hit games from Kuo Hui Lo, Carlos Peguero, Mike Wilson, Guillermo Quiroz and Johan Limonta while out hitting the BayBears in game, 12 to 6.
Dan Cortes (1-1) earned his first win of the season on Saturday by dealing five innings and allowing just two runs on one hit. Cortes took a no hitter into the fourth inning and the outing was his longest of the season. Wes Roemer (1-1) took the loss for Mobile surrendering four runs in six innings. Robert Rohrbaugh, Anthony Varvaro and Edward Paredes tossed scoreless innings of relief for West Tenn.
The Jaxx scored first on Saturday night on an RBI single in the top of the first by Guillermo Quiroz. The soft ground ball that snuck up the middle plated Dustin Ackley. The Jaxx took a 1-0 lead.
Dan Cortes took a no hitter into the fourth inning, but with two outs Cortes walked the bases loaded. Ed Easley doubled in Colin Cowgill and Bryan Byrne to give the BayBears a 2-1 lead.
The Diamond Jaxx showed their muscle in the top of the fifth inning. Carlos Triunfel, Kuo Hui Lo, Carlos Peguero hit back-to-back-to-back homers putting the Jaxx back on top, 4-2.
West Tenn added a couple of insurance runs in the top of the eighth inning off of Mobile reliever, Kyler Newby. Johan Limonta doubled home Guillermo Quiroz and Alex Liddi singled home Limonta giving the Jaxx a 6-2.
The Diamond Jaxx and BayBears will meet again Sunday at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile, AL with first pitch at 6:05 CDT. Taking the mound for the Diamond Jaxx will be RHP Luis Munoz (0-0, 3.38). LHP Tom Layne (1-0, 2.41) will be on the mound for the Mobile BayBears.
