CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Blake Smith led the Lookouts offense with three hits, including a home run, and three RBI en route to a 9-2 win over the Birmingham Barons in Thursday night action at AT&T Field.

Birmingham struck first in the third inning on a Corey Smith RBI single, but the Lookouts matched and raised the Barons in the bottom of the fourth with two runs on the wings of Blake Smith two-run homer.

The Lookouts added three more to their total in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs already on the board, Smith and J.T. Wise singled to set-up a Luis Nunez triple, which resulted in all parties scoring after an errant, flaccid relay throw by second baseman Erik Morrison.

Birmingham's offense produced another run in the top of the seventh, but the Lookouts, once again, quickly countered. In the bottom portion of the seventh, Smith hit a two-RBI single and Wise followed with a double that brought home two more runners, putting the score at 9-2.

Blake Johnson, who pitched the final four frames, shut the door on the Barons and was credited with his first save of the season for the Lookouts.

JonMichael Redding (2-1) was credited with the win. He pitched four innings in relief, yielding just one run on three hits and five walks, while striking out four.

Nathan Eovaldi, who started for the Lookouts and only pitched the first inning, was removed for non-injury reasons.

The Lookouts will hit the road tomorrow to play a five-game series against the Tennessee Smokies but return home next Wednesday to play a five-game homestand against the Mobile BayBears. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
