BayBears Split Doubleheader in Montgomery

The Mobile BayBears split Wednesday's doubleheader with the Montgomery Biscuits at Riverwalk Stadium. The BayBears picked up a 3-1 win over the Biscuits in the first game. Montgomery won with a 6-2 final over Mobile in game two.

In game one, Alfredo Marte broke a 1-1 tie with a solo home run in the sixth inning. The BayBears added another run later in the frame when Ed Easley scored from third on a wild pitch from Biscuits RHP Kirby Yates. RHP Kevin Munson picked up the save for Mobile in the 3-1 victory.

Chase Anderson made his AA debut for Mobile, throwing four innings, allowing just two hits, one run, and striking out five, earning a no decision. LHP Eury De La Rosa earned his second win of the year with a hitless 1.1 innings of work. Munson picked up the save after not allowing any hits over 2.1 innings.

In game two, the BayBears were limited to two runs on two hits. Both of Mobile's runs were off solo homers by Raoul Torrez in the fourth inning and Matt Davidson in the sixth inning. Derek Eitel took the loss for Mobile. Eitel pitched four innings, allowing five runs on six hits.

Mobile and Montgomery conclude their five game set Thursday at 7:05 PM. LHP Patrick Corbin will take the mound for the BayBears. The Biscuits will send out RHP Jake Thompson. The BayBears will return home, Friday April 20, when they open their second home stand of the season matching up with the Jacksonville Suns.
