September 17, 2023 - Southern League (SL)
Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

The Birmingham Barons committed seven errors in the Lookouts 10-6 win in front of a crowd of 3,654 on a Fireworks Friday at AT&T Field.

In the first inning, the home team took advantage of two Barons errors to score two runs. James Free drove home his first run of the day and Francisco Urbaez recorded a sacrifice fly. Allan Cerda made it 3-0 Lookouts in the second inning when he launched a 422-foot solo home run, his fifth of the year.

Birmingham closed the gap to one with two runs in the third, but Chattanooga broke the game open in the bottom of that frame. In the third, the Lookouts scored five runs with the help of three Barons errors and one wild pitch. In that inning, Jose Torres drove home two on a base hit up the middle.

The Barons once again battled back, getting within two runs. With the score 8-6, Free put the game out of reach with a two-run homer. The home run was Free's 16th of the season. This year the first baseman has set career highs in runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, and walks.

Tomorrow is Dinosaur Day at AT&T Field! Ed's Dinosaurs Live will be at the park having prehistoric fun all night long! Gates open at 6:00 and firs pitch is at 7:15 p.m.
