Corpus Christi, Texas: July 29th, 2004 â The Corpus Christi Rayz Professional Hockey Team is looking for the most exciting women in South Texas for their new 2004-05 entertainment and public relations squad, the Sting Team. Tryouts for the Sting Team will be held from Thursday, August 12th through Saturday, August 14th at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club. Interested ladies can pick up an application at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club or at the Rayz office.
The Sting Team will appear at every Rayz home game in the new AmericanBank Center throughout the season and make numerous public appearances throughout the year. The three-day auditions will consist of Thursday and Friday night sessions beginning at 6:30pm and an all-day Saturday session beginning at 10:00am. All three sessions will be at the Corpus Christi Athletic Club, located on the corner of Airline and Holly, in Corpus Christi.
Sting Team candidates must be at least 18 years of age as of September 1, 2004, be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D., live within the immediate Coastal Bend area and be available for all Rayz home games and for public appearances. The candidates will be graded on their poise, personality, dancing strength, communication skills and their ability to work as a team. Applicants must be returned, along with a $15 registration fee, to the Rayz on or before the August 12th tryout date.

The current Rayz Dance Team and the Rayz mascot, Sugar Ray will be appearing at the Cold Stone Creamery at Staples St. and SPID on Tuesday, August 3rd, from 4:00-5:30pm. Fans and interested applicants are encouraged to come and meet the current team.
The Corpus Christi Rayz will begin their seventh professional hockey season in Austin on October 22nd, and host the Laredo Bucks in the first ever event at the AmericanBank Center on November 5th and 7:05pm.
