Friedrich, Valdivieso Assume Director Roles
July 29, 2004 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release
The Central Hockey League has today announced two front office promotions. Leon Friedrich, who has been employed as Manager of Hockey Operations the past two years, has been named Director of Hockey Operations for the coming season while Kimberly Valdivieso, formerly the CHL's Licensing Manager, has been promoted to Director of Licensing.
Friedrich joined the CHL from the National Hockey League's Dallas Stars prior to the 2002- 2003 season and has served as the League's Manager of Hockey Operations for the past two years. Some of Friedrich's key duties include the registration and filing of all CHL player contracts and monitoring CHL salary cap and roster regulations. Friedrich will continue to work alongside Duane Lewis, Vice President of Operations, and Wayne Bonney, Supervisor of Officials, in the CHL's Hockey Operations department. "We are pleased to have Leon move into an expanded role within the League," said Lewis. "He has become a highly valued member of the CHL and is most deserving of this promotion."
Valdivieso, formerly the CHL's Licensing Manager, has been named Director of Licensing. Entering her fourth year with the League this October, she will continue to operate the CHL's Merchandise Licensing Program while also serving as the key administrator for annual CHL events such as the Spring Conference, All-Star Game and Job Fair. "Kimberly continues to excel as one of our most dedicated and talented staff members, and has clearly earned this promotion," said CHL President Brad Treliving. "She has greatly expanded our licensing program and continues to play a key role in the planning and execution of our various annual events."
The Central Hockey League is currently preparing for its 13th season of play this October, and once again led all North American professional "AA" leagues in average attendance during the 2003-2004 regular season, welcoming 4,501 fans per contest this past year. The Central Hockey League is operated by Global Entertainment Corporation through its WPHL, Inc. subsidiary.
