Long Island Nets Acquire Two Players in 2021 NBA G League Draft

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, acquired two players in today's 2021 NBA G League Draft.

With the 20th pick in the second round, Long Island selected forward Chris Walker. Walker (6'9", 200) has played four seasons (2015-19) in the NBA G League with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, appearing in 191 games (11 starts) and averaging 8.2 points and 5.6 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game. He spent the 2019-20 season overseas with BC Rilski Sportist in Bulgaria, averaging 7.8 points and 6.2 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game in five contests, and Yalova Group Belediye Spor in Turkey, averaging 4.0 points and 4.3 rebounds in 15.7 minutes per game in three appearances. The Bonifay, Fla., native previously spent two seasons (2013-15) at the University of Florida, appearing in 49 games (six starts) and averaging 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game.

With their second selection, the 20th pick in the third round, the LI Nets selected guard Jaylen Fisher. Fisher (6'2", 200) played overseas during the 2019-20 season with BC Chernomorets Burgas in Bulgaria and appeared in four games (one start), averaging 17.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in 25.2 minutes per game. Prior to beginning his professional career, Fisher played three seasons (2016-19) at TCU, appearing in 61 games (56 starts) and averaging 10.9 points and 4.2 assists in 28.1 minutes per contest. The Memphis, Tenn., native earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors as a freshman.
