Legends Draft Three, Announce Training Camp Roster

FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends selected three players in the 2021 NBA G League Draft to finalize the 2021-22 training camp roster. Camp will begin Monday, Oct. 25th and will see 16 players competing for a spot on the team.

The Legends had three picks in today's draft, selecting Eddie Stansberry with the 7th overall pick, Loudon Love with the 11th, and Lamonte Bearden with the 71st.

Stansberry is a 6-3 guard out of the University of Hawaii. The California native transferred to Hawaii after two years at City College of San Francisco and averaged 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 60 games with the Warriors. Stansberry was named Big West Player of the Week three times and earned All-Big West First Team as a senior.

Love is a 6-8 center out of Wright State. A four-year starter for the Raiders, Love was named Horizon League Freshman of the Year and continued earning honors all four years. The Illinois native averaged a double-double as a senior, putting up 16.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.3 blocks per game.

Bearden is a 6-3 guard out of Western Kentucky. The Wisconsin native transferred to Western Kentucky after two years at Buffalo where he earned All-MAC honors both seasons. In his rookie season, Bearden played for Duzce Belediye in the Turkish TBL averaging 18.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 2.4 steals.

The training camp roster consists of four returning players, four affiliate players, two NBA two-way players, three local tryout players, and three draft picks. The complete roster is as follows:

The Legends will hit the road for their first matchup of the season against the Lakeland Magic. The two teams will meet in a double-header Nov. 5th and 6th at 6pm CT. Texas will then host the Birmingham Squadron in their home opener the following weekend with a back-to-back Nov. 12th and 13th at 7:30pm at the Comerica Center.
