Long Island Nets Acquire Terrico White

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired guard Terrico White from the available player pool. Long Island was granted an injury replacement exception by the NBA G League to allow for the additional roster spot while guard Jordan Bowden (right thumb injury and right meniscus surgery) and forward Chris Walker (right knee fracture) miss time due to injury.

White (6'5", 213), who will be eligible to play for Long Island beginning on Jan. 5, has appeared in 61 career NBA G League games (51 starts) over two seasons with the Bakersfield Jam (2015-16) and Idaho Stampede (2011-12), averaging 17.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 33.9 minutes per game.

White has played nine seasons internationally (2012-21) in Australia, Korea, Puerto Rico, Turkey and Russia. Most recently, he spent the 2020-21 season overseas in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) with Brujos de Guayama, where he averaged 13.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.8 minutes per contest over 24 games (all starts). In addition, he played with Gigantes de Carolina of the BSN, averaging 12.7 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists in seven games (all starts). White played in the Korean Basketball League with the Changwon LG Sakers and the Seoul Samsung Thunders in the 2020-21 campaign before his stint in Puerto Rico.

The Memphis, Tenn., native was drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft after playing two collegiate seasons (2008-10) at Ole Miss, recording career averages of 14.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 30.8 minutes per game over 66 games (55 starts). He earned 2009 SEC Freshman of the Year Honors after his first season with the Rebels.
