Long Island Nets Acquire Returning Player Rights to Josh Gray

LONG ISLAND - The Long Island Nets, the NBA G League affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets, have acquired the returning player rights to Josh Gray from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in exchange for the returning player rights to Justin Anderson. The trade is not subject to a physical.

Gray (6'1", 180) has appeared in 146 career NBA G League games (84 starts) over four seasons with Northern Arizona (2016-18), Erie (2019-20) and Fort Wayne (2020-21), averaging 17.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 31.0 minutes per contest. He has also appeared in seven NBA games over two seasons with Phoenix (2017-18) and New Orleans (2019-20), averaging 4.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 15.6 minutes per contest, and spent the 2018-19 season with the Changwon LG Sakers in the Korean Basketball League. The Lake Charles, La., native played in 14 games (11 starts) for Fort Wayne last season and posted averages of 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 28.9 minutes per game. Gray previously played two collegiate seasons (2014-16) at Louisiana State after spending his first two seasons at Texas Tech (2012-13) and Odessa College (2013-14) in Texas.

Anderson appeared in 16 games during the 2019-20 season for Long Island, averaging 20.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.0 steals in 33.6 minutes per contest. He was originally acquired by Long Island in a trade with Raptors 905 on Jan. 21, 2020.
