Long Beach Jam visit Lafayette Elementary School
March 25, 2005 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Maywood Laguneros News Release
Jam President, Jack Lucarelli, accompanied Jam head coach, Corey Gaines, and Jam forward, Jeremee McGuire, when they made a visit to Lafayette Elementary School in honor of "Read Across America."
Gaines and McGuire took turns reading a book to a group of 30 students in Mrs. Vu and Mrs. Seimen's class, which is part of the dual immersion program.
"The kids had a wonderful time and enjoyed having the Jam come and read to them," said Rebecca Rankins.
Special thanks to Ms. Miller and Rebecca Rankins for organizing and inviting the Jam to the event. Rankins is also in charge of the Junior Jammer Booth at the Pyramid during all the Jam home games, so don't forget to stop by and say hello at the next Jam game.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
