Maywood Laguneros announce new home

Maywood, CA. The ABA Maywood Laguneros today announced that the Maywood Community Center will serve as the new home of the team. Located in the heart of Maywood, California, the venue also plays host to Junior Olympic Boxing, Volleyball tournaments and the facility boasts park grounds, a baseball diamond and amphitheatre. The Latin flavor of the Laguneros team will cater to its community and surrounding area serving the Latin community heavily represented throughout the area.
An agreement between the Maywood Laguneros and the City of Maywood was agreed upon last week and approved at City Council only days ago. The relationship between the progressive direction of the city and the innovative style of the team compliment each other well.
"We're more than excited to bring quality Latino flavored basketball to a community thirsty for both entertainment and world class sports, all presented in a family environment. Our goal hasn't changed since day one; to provide something forby Latinos for Latinos and basketball fans in general," said Tomas Gillespie, former Guatamalan national team forward and Maywood Laguneros General Manager.
