Ask the CEO

Note: I have been receiving many questions regarding the offer to play an exhibition game with the NBA for the Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. I am trying to consolidate the questions as I cannot answer all of them.

Question from Many: "If the NBA accepted, where would you play the game?"

Answer: The NBA hasn't accepted yet, but if we were to play the game, it would be at Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh on Friday, October 28th just prior to the official opening of the ABA season. The Miami Pitbulls, featuring former NBA great Tim Hardaway, come in for that weekend for a Special Season Opener - and the exhibition game would be a fabulous addition to a gala weekend. And Pittsburgh Xplosion owner Freddie Lewis tells me that some of the supergreat legends of the original ABA are coming in for the game also. And, Mellon Arena, excited at the prospect, has offered its full cooperation including a generous deal on the the fabulous facility because of the worthiness of the cause, Katrina hurricane victims. We're still waiting for an NBA response, hopefully positive. We are ready. Thanks for so much interest. If you have a question, email joenewman@abalive.com.
