The Atlanta Vision is an official member of the ABA (American Basketball Association). The Atlanta Vision's Mission is to provide a Glimpse of Excellence to the Multitude through Sports, Entertainment, Retail, and Outreach to Build Positive Relationships for a Stronger and Healthier Community. The Atlanta Vision offers players the opportunity to develop their talent and skill in a highly competitive atmosphere under a professional umbrella. Atlanta Vision educates players on nutrition, social integrity, character building, and community service initiatives. The ABA offers exciting, fast-paced, fan-friendly, professional basketball to families at an affordable price.

The Atlanta Vision will hold an Open Player Tryout Saturday July 2 and Sunday July 3, 2005 at the Samson Center located at 6400 Woodrow Road Lithonia, GA 30038. The Atlanta Vision Open Player Tryout provides desiring players the opportunity to earn a spot for the Atlanta Vision 2005-2006 Training-Vet camp which begins November 1, 2005.

The Atlanta Vision Tryout will be directed by the Atlanta Vision staff and special invited guest. Space is limited and it is highly recommended that players register early. Players must provide Completed Application Materials including a $100 Non-Refundable Registration Fee due by Tuesday May 31, 2005. A $150 Registration Fee is required for all packages received after May 31, 2005 only if space is available. There are two ways to registrar: Option 1: Credit Card payment online at the VISION STORE and then you can fax or mail your Completed Application Materials

Option 2: Mail Money order or Cashiers check Payable to "Atlanta Vision" with your Completed Application Materials

The player tryouts will feature one session per day and both days are open to the public. The Saturday, July 2nd session registration, warm-up, and shoot around starts at 8:00am and tip-off will be at 9:00am and conclude at 3:00pm. The Sunday July 3rd session will begin promptly at 4:00pm and conclude at 8:00PM. With league approval, selected participants from the open player tryouts will be invited to compete in the Atlanta Vision Training–Veteran Camp that starts on November 1, 2005.

Q: Are the Atlanta Vision players on salary?
A: Yes, the Atlanta Vision contracted players sign a professional contract that includes a salary plus bonus incentives based on results produced. In addition, the Atlanta Vision players also receive professional experience and massive exposure to promote a successful career.

Q: How many players will be invited to the Atlanta Vision Training-Veteran Camp that starts in November?
A: The Atlanta Vision will invite no more than 30 players to Training-Vet Camp.

Q: How many people will make the team for the final roster?
A: The Atlanta Vision will have 10-12 contracted players and 3-5 practice players.

Q: How many games do you play and where do you practice & play?
A: The Atlanta Vision will enter its second season of ABA action with a 36 game schedule from late November through early March and features a 18 game home schedule at The Samson Center located on the Campus of New Birth at 6400 Woodrow Road Lithonia, GA 30038. The other 18 away regular season games will be played throughout the United States. Our conference opponents consist of teams in Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, and Virginia.

A: Your basketball gear, a strong mindset, and the will to compete at a physical professional level, a well conditioned body, and a heart that understands the opportunity that is before you. Whitney Young stated "It is far better to be prepared for an opportunity and not have one, than to have an opportunity and not be prepared."

Q: What are the advantages of being part of the Atlanta Vision team?
A: Opportunity to play professional basketball in the United States, exposure to the NBA and Professional International Teams, the Atlanta Vision plays during the optimal NBA Call-up stage providing greater chances for selection, 48 minute games, community networks, superior development and training on and off the court.
