La Crosse, Wis. - The Kingfish (7-12) surrendered a late solo home run to La Crosse Logger centerfielder Gerrett Zech, and the Kingfish took a 4-3 loss at Copeland Park.

The Kingfish scored first with their own long ball. Gunnar McNeill blasted a solo shot to left in the 2nd, and the Kingfish owned a 1-0 lead. La Crosse responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd off of a Lorenzo Hampton Jr. 2-RBI double.

In the fifth, the Kingfish got two off of a fielder's choice and a subsequent throwing error, but La Crosse came back to tie it again in the bottom of the frame, 3-3. Gerrett Zech's blast in the 7th then became the difference.

Brendon Allen started on the mound for the Kingfish, and allowed 2 runs in 4 innings of action. Chase Thurston followed with three innings of relief, in which he allowed 2 Loggers to cross the plate. Colton Lee pitched a perfect 8th inning for the Kingfish.

The bottom of the order paced the Kingfish offense. Micah Coffey went 2 for 3 with a walk, and Cullen Jozwiak went 2 for 4 with a run scored. Gunnar McNeill had a 1 for 4 day at the plate, which included his solo home run to left.
