Mequon, WI - Following a 10-5 loss to the Rockford Rivets on Firday night, the Chinooks returned to Kapco Park on Saturday to face off against the Wisconsin Woodchucks in their first meeting of the season.

In a pitcher's duel, the Chinooks were ultimately defeated by a score of 1-0, as a struggling offense continues to have difficulty driving in runs.

Alex Rogers (North Dakota State) took the mound for the fourth time this season for Lakeshore, hoping to pick up his first win after losing his first two outings and being awarded a no decision in his third start against La Crosse.

Scott Parker (University of San Francisco) got the start for the Woodchucks in his third start and fifth appearance for Wisconsin. He came into the game with a 2-1 record, allowing only two walks and striking out twelve batters in his 16.0 innings of work.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the fifth. A one-out single by Connor Heady (Kentucky) kick started the offense for Wisconsin. Then, a 0-2 delivery from Rogers was launched in the left-center gap by Ruben Cardenas (Cal State Fullerton), scoring Heady from first to give the Woodchucks a 1-0 lead.

Alex Rogers' night would end after 5.2 innings of work. He held the Woodchucks to only one run on nine hits, striking out 2 and issuing 2 walks in a strong performance for the right-hander. Joe Stoll (Ohio) came on in relief for Rogers with two-out and the bases loaded, masterfully producing a ground ball to third base to get out of the inning unscathed.

Joe Stoll held the Woodchucks hitless and struck out two batters in his 2.1 innings in relief. Zach Reeg (Augustana) came on to pitch the ninth and silenced the Woodchucks' bats, striking out two and inducing a fly ball to give Lakeshore a chance going into the bottom of the ninth.

Gordon Cardenas (Auburn) was called from the bullpen to pitch the ninth for the Woodchucks. Scott Parker pitched a gem for Wisconsin, holding the Chinooks scoreless and allowing five hits with one walk and one strikeout in his eight innings of work.

The Chinooks didn't go down without a fight in the bottom of the ninth, as a lead-off double by Tim DalPorto (Kent State) followed by a one-out walk issued to Joe Duncan (Eastern Illinois) put two runners on for the Chinooks. However, Owen Miller (Illinois State) got on top of a 2-2 delivery from Cardenas and grounded into a 6-4-3 double play to end the game and give the Woodchucks the 1-0 victory.

Alex Rogers would be issued his third loss of the season after the Chinooks offense provided no runs support to back up his quality outing on the mound. Woodchucks' starter Scott Parker picked up this third win of the season and closer Gordon Cardenas was awarded his third save of the year.

With the loss, the Chinooks drop their record to 7-12 and the Woodchucks improve their record to 9-8 on the season.

The Chinooks return to Kapco Park on Father's Day looking to split the series with the Woodchucks at 1:35pm.
