
Loggers Fall Short in Pitching Duel vs. Rafters 2-0

WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. - The two pitching staffs combined to allow just eight hits on Wednesday night at Witter Field, but the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters were able to break through twice in a 2-0 win over the La Crosse Loggers.
Loggers starter Tony Roca (North Florida) allowed just three hits and one run over five innings pitched to take the hard-luck loss, while Cam Robinson (Louisville) and Jack Chester (Pepperdine) allowed just two hits combined over three innings of relief.
The Rafters' Ryan Walstad hit a solo home run in the second inning, and drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the sixth inning.
Austin Murr (NC State), JT Thompson (Texas State) and Graham Pauley (Duke) each had a hit for the Loggers (6-9).
The two teams will square off once again, this time at Copeland Park on Thursday night at 6:35 pm.
