Green Bay Rockers News Release

Ashwaubenon, WI - The Green Bay Booyah used a pair of long balls in the middle innings to propel themselves to a 5-2 victory over the Woodchucks on Thursday night.

The scoring started in the 3rd inning for Green Bay when Alec Burns launched his third home run of the season over the right-center wall to put the Booyah up 2-0. In the fifth, with Green Bay then leading by 4-0, Columbia freshman Andy Blake blasted his second home run of the season, putting the Booyah up 5-0, and Green Bay never looked back from there.

The starting pitcher Garrett Martin had a spectacular evening at Capital Credit Union Park, going four innings, allowing just three hits, and striking out eight Woodchuck batters. St. Cloud State's Avery Stephens got his second win of the year, going two innings on the mound. Out of the back end, Cam Bailey picked up an extended save, completing three innings and putting down four batters. The save was Bailey's first of the year.

Green Bay took three out of four games from the Woodchucks in this series, including winning back-to-back games. The Booyah hit the road for a four-game set against the Rockford Rivets, staying in Rockford from Friday-Monday, before their first off day on Tuesday. Green Bay throws Rutgers right-hander Aaron Winkler, who will make his second start of the season.
