June 29, 2011 - North American League (NAmL)
San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---The Colts pick up right where they left off, as they continue to hit and win. Logan Williamson picked up his fifth win of the season and Trey Carter extended his hitting streak. Colts would pick up their third straight win defeating the McAllen Thunder 6-4.

Once again the Colts would strike early, putting three runs on the board in the bottom of the first. Ronnie Gaines has now reached base safely in every single game so far this season. Gaines would lead off the bottom of the first with a double, and after a base hit by DH Cory Patton, first baseman Daryl Jones would bring in Gaines on a double of his own. Patton and Jones would also reach the dish after a throwing error by Thunder third baseman Adam Matos. Confusion set in on Foster Field in the bottom of the fourth as Colts shortstop Butch Ballez thought a fly ball by Ronnie Gaines had been caught. Ballez went back to tag up, being passed by Gaines calling Gaines out. The confusion did not stop there. Ballez thought he had been called out by base umpire Woodie Belle, started to walk back towards the dugout and was tagged out by Thunder second baseman Wilson Bautista. Left fielder Andrew Riddick would cross the plate during the confusion giving the Colts a 5-3 lead

Colts Lefty Logan Williamson remains perfect on the season improving to 5-0. Through seven innings of work, Williamson gave up three runs on two hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Williamson has now recorded 40 strikeouts on the season, putting him in a tie for second in the North American League with McAllen's Kurt Houck.

Thursday night the Colts play game two of the four game series at Foster Field. First pitch is at 7:05. Thursday night is also "Thirsty Thursdays" sponsored by Miller Lite. All draft beer is only one dollar all night long. Friday night the first one thousand fans will receive a free dental kit from Twin Mountain Dentistry.
