Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to Conclude Canada Day Series

Edmonton, AB - Edmonton Oilers 2011 first-overall draft pick Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will be in attendance at this Saturday's Edmonton Capitals game at TELUS Field to help the team conclude its Canada Day Series against Maui.

Nugent-Hopkins will throw the ceremonial first pitch before the Capitals take on Na Koa Ikaika at 7 p.m. The Oilers prospect will then sign autographs for fans on the TELUS Field concourse. The ceremonial first pitch is scheduled for 6:50 p.m., so fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early.

The Capitals' 2011 Canada Day Series is presented by Mott's, as Caesars are just $3 at every game. The series started Tuesday night as Edmonton improved to 19-12 by beating Maui 9-7, and games are scheduled Wednesday through Saturday with 7 p.m. start times.

Tonight's game is another edition of Wiener Wednesday presented by K-97, as Capitals hot dogs are just $2 all night. And tomorrow's game is another Thirsty Thursday presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House, Virgin Radio and The Bear, as fans can enjoy Molson beer products for just $3.

Friday's game will be the biggest Canada Day party in all of Edmonton, with the best seats in the city to watch the river valley fireworks display. And in addition to the appearance by Nugent-Hopkins, Saturday's series finale will also include another Cheemo Mascot Race.

The Capitals are the city's most affordable entertainment option in the summer featuring Edmonton's largest patio! Season seats start at less than $9 per seat.
