Lowell, MA ... The Lowell Lock Monsters, partnered with Alpha Gamma Pi fraternity of Bentley College, will help raise funds for Helping Hands: Monkey Helpers for the Disabled for next Wednesday's contest against the Philadelphia Phantoms. Helping Hands raises and trains capuchin monkeys to assist individuals with spinal cord injuries. Established in 1979, the organization has placed over 90 monkeys with disabled individuals.

Proceeds from tickets sold through the Alpha Gamma Pi fraternity will be donated to the Helping Hands organization, in the name of Chris Watts, a fraternity brother paralyzed in 1997, and future recipient of a Helping Hands monkey. In addition, the Lock Monsters will raffle off a game worn Lock Monsters jersey throughout the Wednesday night contest, with proceeds to benefit the organization.

Ayla, a 10 year old trained capuchin monkey, will be on hand to greet fans on the concourse and will drop the ceremonial first puck. An informational booth will be set up on the concourse for fans to learn about the training process, becoming a Foster Family, or making contributions to the Helping Hands organization.

Tickets for the Wednesday, March 9th contest are available by visiting the Tsongas Arena box office, calling the Lock Monsters at (978) 458-7825, or online at www.lockmonsters.com
