Cleveland Barons News Release
CLEVELAND âThe Cleveland Barons will host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday, March 4th and Saturday, March 5th with each game starting at 7:00pm on the National City Rink located in Gund Arena. Just five points separate four teams, including the Barons, in the North Division for the final playoff spot. The Barons trail Hamilton by just one point in the standings.
On Friday, the first 1,500 children 14-and-under in attendance will receive an East of Chicago Collector's Puck. Every Friday night, fans can purchase two-for-one $16 tickets by presenting their National City Bank Card at the Gund Arena Box Office. During the game, one lucky fan will be selected to attempt a shot from center ice on an open net. Should the puck go in the net, every fan wins free chicken wings courtesy of Harpo's Sports Cafe.
On Saturday, fans will be overwhelmed by promotions. Upon entering National City Rink located in Gund Arena, the first 3,000 fans will receive a Garrett Stafford Bobblehead. Stafford was the 2004 Cleveland Barons Rookie of the Year as well as being a member of the AHL Second Team All-Star squad and an AHL All-Rookie.
Entering the concourse, the soothing sounds of the Ohio State University Alumni Band will course through the halls. The OSU Alumni Band will deliver the National Anthems as well as performing during in-game timeouts and intermissions.
Prior to the Rubbermaid Puck-Drop, Johnny Bower, Bob Whidden, and Phil Simon will be inducted into the Cleveland Hockey Legends Ring of Honor. The three will have their likeness etched on dasher boards surrounding the National City Rink that will be unveiled during the ceremony. During the second intermission, the trio will sign autographs for fans in the concourse.
Following the Barons contest, the team will participate in a Post-Game Skate courtesy of Marc's. The entire roster will skate with the fans signing autographs and posing for pictures. Fans are welcomed and encouraged to bring skates to Gund Arena as they will not be provided.
Any fan presenting a non-winning Ohio Lottery ticket at the Gund Arena Box Office on Saturday night can purchase two-for-one $21 tickets, while supplies last.
Barons tickets can be purchased at all TicketMaster Outlets, the Gund Arena Box Office, and charge-by-phone by calling 216-241-5555. More information about the Barons is available by calling 216-420-0000 or by Crashing The Net at www.clevelandbarons.net.
