Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN-Admit it, you've had the fantasy: the spotlight surrounds you in a brilliant shaft of light. You can feel thousands of appreciative fans watching you from the darkness as you gloriously belt out a classic. When your song is over, they burst into thunderous applause.

This happens every night for one lucky vocalist just prior to all 32 Memphis RiverKings games at the DeSoto Civic Center as that person delivers the American national anthem to the RiverKings faithful. The good news is, everyone has an equal opportunity to get on the anthem roster when the RiverKings host national anthem auditions this month.

All those with hidden talent or persons who are looking to get a little more vocal exposure are invited to audition on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the DeSoto Civic Center convention hall, Rooms 3 and 4.

Vocalists should be prepared to sing a cappella and should study the anthem lyrics beforehand to ensure correct repetition. Pitch pipes welcome.
