Pair of Steelhounds start training camp with the Barons

YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO -The Youngstown SteelHounds American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Cleveland Barons, began training camp yesterday at their practice facility in Parma (Lakefront Arena). Of the 39 players competing in the Baron's training camp, two are contracted SteelHounds players; defenseman Marc-Andre Roy and forward Darryl Lloyd.

"We are very pleased to have both Darryl and Marc-Andre in an American League camp," said George Manias, SteelHounds General Manager. "Their presence in Cleveland's camp adds credibility to the SteelHounds and gives our team its first chance to make an impression in the hockey world."

The Barons will play in two exhibition games with Hounds players potentially suiting up for the AHL club. The first game is Friday, September 29th versus Hamilton (played in Welland, Ontario) and the final pre-season game is on Saturday, September 30th versus Grand Rapids (played in Grand Rapids). The Barons open the regular season on October 8th at home versus the Rochester Americans.

The SteelHounds begin training camp on Monday, October 10th at the Youngstown Convocation Center and the home opener is set for Friday, November 4th versus Oklahoma City. For ticket information, contact the SteelHounds at (330) 747-PUCK (7825).
