Fioroni will appear at special function in Seminole

SEMINOLE, TX - The city of Seminole will be hosting a charity flag football game at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Wigwam Stadium. The Seminole Chamber of Commerce, along with many local and regional community leaders, are preparing to entertain anyone who wants to come out for an evening of family fun, and all for a good cause. Players will include several local and regional community members, as well as members of the Lubbock GunSlingers professional arena football club. The Cotton Kings will be sending down several players and Eli, the Cotton King mascot, to referee the game and sign some autographs.
Every ticket sold will benefit the 24-Foundation, a charity established by Paul Fioroni, captain of the Lubbock Cotton Kings professional hockey club. Each year, Mr. Fioroni chooses one family in need to help from the Lubbock region. Throughout the year, he holds several functions to benefit the family. Last year, Mr. Fioroni, along with the Cotton Kings and many area companies, raised $30,000 to help Jeremy Green of Levelland who was seriously injured in a football scrimmage. This year, the 24-Foundation has its eyes set on two young girls in Lubbock. The first girl is in need of developmental therapy. The second is in need of liver treatments.
Tickets will be $5 each in advance or $6 at the gate. All seating is general admission. The gates to Wigwam Stadium will open at 4:15 PM. The kick-off will occur at 5:00.
Tickets are available at the Seminole High School Athletic Training Room, the Seminole Chamber of Commerce, and at the gate.
