Corpus Christi IceRays News Release

The Corpus Christi Rayz would like to congratulate former player and current Community Relations Coordinator Dave Gilmore and his wife Droxine on the birth of their first child. Tyler William Gilmore was born last night, September 26th at 10:30pm. He weighed an even eight lbs. and measured 21 inches long. Both Droxine and Tyler are healthy and we welcome the newest member of the Rayz and Gilmore family.

The 31-year old Gilmore is set to begin his third season with the Rayz, only this time in a different capacity. He assumed the position of Community Relations Coordinator this past July. Gilmore had 24 goals and 52 points for the Rayz last year in his second season in Corpus Christi. Prior to returning to Corpus last season, Gilmore helped launch professional hockey in the Coastal Bend as a member of the 1998-99 inaugural Rayz team. Gilmore's career totals with the Rayz are 38 goals, 47 assists, 85 points and 54 penalty minutes in 87 games.

While in Corpus Christi, Gilmore met his wife Droxine and they were later married in South Texas in the summer of 2003. Dave will now enter his first year of parenthood in the same city where he played his first season of professional hockey.

Sources around the Corpus Christi area say that Rayz Head Coach Ken McRae has already looked into recruiting Tyler for the 2026-2027 season.

The Corpus Christi Rayz will begin their eighth consecutive season in the Coastal Bend on Friday, October 21st in Austin. The Rayz home opener will be Saturday, October 22nd at 7:35pm vs. division rivals, the Austin Ice Bats. Last season Corpus Christi broke a franchise attendance record, welcoming more than 123,000 fans in their first season at the American Bank Center. Season tickets & sponsorship packages are currently available. Deposits start as low as $50 per seat. For more information, please contact the Rayz at (361)814-PUCK.
