B.C. Lions News Release

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced the following transactions today:

Offensive lineman Martin Bibla, receivers Anthony Russo and Jason Jones and defensive back Trestin George have been added to the club's suspended list. Offensive guard Sherko Haji-Rasouli has also been placed on the suspended list while he attends to a personal matter in Ontario.

The Lions also announced that they have added defensive back William Heyward.

Heyward spent four seasons at Texas State ('01-'04) and was also a member of the school's track and field team. A mainstay in the Bobcats defensive backfield, the speedy Heyward led the team in kick-off return average as a senior while notching 11 tackles.

BC Lions Training Camp begins today in Abbotsford with two practices running daily (8:30-10:30 am and 4:00-6:00 pm) through Saturday, June 13th.

The Lions travel to Calgary to take on the defending Grey Cup champion Stampeders in preseason action on Wednesday, June 17th and will host the Edmonton Eskimos at BC Place on Tuesday, June 23rd at 7:00 pm.
