
Lions Extend Wally Buono's Contract

VANCOUVER, B.C. May 30, 2005 â BC Lions President and CEO today announced the signing of General Manager and Head Coach Wally Buono to a contract extension. In keeping with team policy terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are very pleased that Wally will continue to lead this team for the next four years," said Ackles. "This is an exciting time for the BC Lions and Wally is a big part of that."
Wally enters his third season as General Manager and Head Coach for the BC Lions and has fifteen years of Head Coaching experience in the CFL. He is the CFL's second highest winning coach and has three Grey Cup wins as a coach.
Aside from being an accomplished CFL coach, Wally is a noted contributor to community organization winning the Paul Harris award in 2001. Wally and his wife Sande have four children, Amy, Dana, Christie, and Michael.
