Lions Cornerback Davis Sanchez to Make Donation to Tony Proudfoot Fund

(Montreal) Lions cornerback Davis Sanchez along with former Montreal Alouettes great Tony Proudfoot and ALS Society of Quebec representative Claudine Cook will be on-hand during Thursday's media availability at Sheraton Centre in Montreal as Sanchez makes a special cheque presentation to the Tony Proudfoot Fund.

In a demonstration of support for his former coach, Sanchez will present a personal cheque to Proudfoot, who was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) in 2007. Last season, the former Alouettes cornerback donated $200.00 for every interception he recorded along with an additional $100.00 for every Alouettes win to the Tony Proudfoot Fund.

The Tony Proudfoot Fund works in conjunction with the ALS Society of Quebec to raise funds for the Tony Proudfoot Post-Doctoral Fellowships in ALS Research at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University and the McGill University Health Centre. The hope is that the research will lead to new therapies for the thousands of Canadians affected by this devastating degenerative disease.

In addition, the fund helps improve the living conditions for people living with ALS and provides support for their family members via programs throughout Quebec.
