
Lions and Sport Chek Kick Off Punt, Pass & Kick

VANCOUVER, B.C. July 24, 2002 -- BC Lions and Sport Chek are proud to announce the revitalization of Punt, Pass & Kick taking place in 17 districts all over the Lower Mainland. Punt, Pass & Kick begins this Thursday, July 25, 2002 in Langley at the corner of 207th Street and 48th Avenue from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The BC Lions' Tyrone Taylor will be participating in the first Punt, Pass & Kick for the Vancouver Mainland Football League.
Punt, Pass & Kick will give over 2,500 minor football players age 8 to 15 a chance to test their skills of punting, passing and kicking and at the same time meet their pro football heroes and compete for an individual title. Throughout the course of the program, participating athletes will be awarded great giveaways and prizes. Finalists will be invited to compete for the championship in their age category before a BC Lions home game on September 27.
The program will run from July 25 to the end of September for kids from the Vancouver Mainland Football League, Valley League, and the North Vancouver League.
The objective of the program is for young football players to come away with a sense of involvement and accomplishment. Sport Chek has signed on as the title sponsor.
