
Lions Add Three More To Practice Roster

(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club announced today that import defensive backs Jamar Love and Stanley Franks along with import running back Brad Lester have been signed to the club's practice roster.
Love attended the University of Arkansas from 2005-2008 and made the Razorbacks as a true freshman. By his the end of his senior season in 2008, he had appeared in 42 games notching 54 tackles and three sacks along with 15 pass knockdowns. Love was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New England Patriots and attended their training camp this past summer.
Franks played at Long Beach City College in '04 and '05 where he was named a JC All-American and First Team All-Mission Conference. As a sophomore, he caught 62 passes for 778 yards and 8 TDs. After converting to a defensive back, he attended the University of Idaho in '06 and '07 where he led the NCAA in interceptions during his first season with a total of nine in 12 games setting a school record for return yards in the process. Franks was voted Idaho defensive player of the year in 2006 and named to the All-WAC First Team. In two seasons at Idaho, Franks notched 61 tackles over 24 games along with a total of 10 interceptions. He was also a teammate of current Leo fullback Rolly Lumbala.
Lester bounced back from a season-ending knee injury during his first season at Auburn University in 2004 to play four full seasons for the Tigers from '05 to '08. The Georgia native recorded 371 carries for 1,689 yards and 10 TD's over 41 games and also added 26 receptions for 258 yards and another three majors. Lester attended a workout with the Houston Texans following his career at Auburn.
