Lindor Earns Hitter of the Week Honor

Zebulon, N.C. - The Cleveland Indians' top prospect, Francisco Lindor, added another honor to his already growing list on Monday afternoon. The Carolina League announced the Carolina Mudcats' shortstop as Hitter of the Week for April 29-May 5.

Lindor, 19 years-old, hit .500 (13x26) over seven games. He cracked his first home run in a game two of a doubleheader against Potomac, belted his fourth triple of the year, and added two doubles to his stellar week. The speedster scored six times, and drove in four runs.

The Indians' first round pick, 8th overall, in 2011 owns the second best batting average in the league at .366. He has hit safely in 22 of 29 games, and six straight. Lindor has reached base safely in 14 straight games entering the week, and his 41 hits are the most of any hitter in the Carolina League. His 13 multi-hit games are the most of any Mudcat this year.

After a day off on Monday, May 6th, the Mudcats hit the road for three games at Salem beginning Tuesday, May 7th. Carolina returns home to host the Lynchburg Hillcats for four games on Friday, May 10th.
